H-2B RWE: We Need Your Help!

At Practical Employee Solutions we strive to make an effort to be heard by our nations leaders. Veronica Birkenstock, President & CEO, has been involved in strengthening the H-2B program and it’s respective industries for over 20 years. On many occasions, we have met with Congressmen and travel to D.C. quite frequently to make our voices heard.

In July, we were successful in pushing a bipartisan Congress to successfully pass our Returning Workers Exemption (*RWE) amendment to the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Committee; that was just the beginning. There is still a long road ahead and the amendment still needs to see its way through the floor of the House and Senate. That is where you come in. We have had much success in the past using Twitter and other forms of social media to reach out to members of Congress to get RWE on their radar and to push them to support H-2B. Along with many friends and clients, we have attained success in the past and are confident that we will get this approved for FY 2017. We are ever so gracious for the people who have been supportive thus far.

* THE RETURNING WORKER EXEMPTION ALLOWS WORKERS WHO HAVE RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM (1 or a combination of the last 3 years) TO BE EXEMPT FROM THE BI-ANNUAL CAP ON GUEST WORKERS ENTERING THE UNITED STATES. WITH THIS EXEMPTION ADDED INTO THE BILL, SMALL BUSINESSES AND H-2B WILL BE PROSPEROUS. WITHOUT IT, LOCAL BUSINESSES FAIL AND AMERICAN JOBS ARE AT RISK.
